Thom's 35 Years Old

The sign made by the kids says it all, doesn't it?

Thom turns 35 years old on January 17th 2009 ! He wanted to play poker with his friends for this birthday. We rented professional poker tables with cup holders that went into the new empty dining room. Several really good friends showed up all in all about twenty adults and 11 kids. When guests arrived I had appetizers veggie tray fruit tray little smokies and chips out. The cheese ball was M.I.A. we still don't know where it went too? Main dish was Salmon and Steak with bread and a green salad.

Pictured above is the 35 year old himself, great picture huh! Below is some friends playing poker, we had quite the set up.

This is what happens when your friends have too much unsupervised time on their hands. We will have many surprises over the next few days who knows what is in each can?

This is a funny story we were over at a friends house and had flipped all their pictures upside down. Since we have not hung ours the magnents got it.

Hollie's Project

Hollie got an "A" on a history project for school. What makes this A unique is that from beginning to end it was all of Hollies work. I did not help at all with the content. This was her semester final for History. I came home Friday and she couldn't wait to tell me, I was so proud of her.

Karen's Birthday

Went to a good friends birthday on the 10th Jan. in picture was her daughter Kelly and Lauren. I made the cake and then Kris(another friend) added to it. We always have good time when we are around them and wish her the best year for 2009!

Evacuation

Wednesday at 5pm Jan 7th a policeman knocked on the door and asked Thom to evacuate the house. I was at work but figured out that something was up with my home when in under ten minutes I received about eleven phone calls apparently the news announced our development by name was being evacuated. I had one patient left and no one to relieve me. I called Thom as soon as I could and he said that at this point it was a voluntary evac. so he got the kids and the pets to my moms. I met them their and then Thom and I went back to the house to move furniture up stairs. The police and individuals monitoring the river were not letting anyone close enough to see how high the water was. They told us that the only way we would flood is if the dam up river needs to let water out to prevent the dam from breaking. The dam had already had to release water twice and was likely to do this again. The water behind our house was still one to two feet from the backyard. It turns out the beavers who created the nice lake behind ourhouse, where a walking trail should have been, saved our butts. Their dam prevented the river from overflowing into our area. Loving those little Beavers now!

These pics are the next day the rains stopped and the river had dropped but this is what the Puyallup river looked like! Thank you again to My mom who put us up at her house on short notice and all our friends who offered for us to stay with them or just called to make sure we were all o.k. even days after.

MOVING IN

Thom and I waited all day Monday for the sale of the house to record! At 4pm we got the call to come and get the keys! The keys were well presented tied onto a box of chocolate with a Red Ribbon. The plan was to load the rental truck and take it to the new house in the morning. It took the family and I three hard days of packing, it felt as though the accumulation of stuff would never end. Thank you to all of our wonderful friends who after work came over to help load the truck. Aimie's step father Steve Bonnie her mom, Chris (my brother), Brad (friend), Stacy(friend), Riley(stacy kid), Clay (friend). Hopefully I didn't forget anyone. It was a crazy night and it was a blur. They had the truck packed with every box in under a half hour. We took the load and everyone to see the house unpacked and went for a second load. We spent that night at the new house in big thanks to Steve who insisted he stay to set up the beds.

The next day we got an early start another wonderful round of friends came down to help us move. My mom greg melissa amelia stacy arielle riley karen kelly hailey kris olivia kenzie steve (again) later in the day Clay, Brad again after work. I am sure I am missing a bunch of people. The new house started to be unpacked the old house I had friends cleaning bathrooms kids wiping down walls. It was crazy how much help we had considering that it was a weekday. Thanks to all our friends and family who had to work and had offered to help when we thought it would be a weekend move. Thanks to all my coworkers who found a way to get me off the schedule.
Wednesday we completed the move and finally relaxed above pictured Greg Thom Brian Clay and the back of Robbie's head. Below Stacy and the kids Arielle Alexa Hollie and Sage.

We are in the new house, we are so thankful for our Family who made this possible and friends who put up with me primarily.
